Texas State Capitol Rotunda

The Texas State Capitol is undoubtedly one of the most photographer-friendly public buildings I’ve ever had the pleasure to visit (and I’ve visited it a great deal over the last couple of decades). Not only is access easy despite new security checkpoints, it’s also open late every night. If you are in Austin, make sure to visit the building and take one of the free guided tours. Texas State Capitol

Most visitors to the Texas State Capitol in Austin congregate on the south side of the building since it’s closer to downtown and is also the side that receives the most sun during the later part of the day. The north side, however, offers a great view of the building especially early in the morning during the summer.
