There can’t be too many views in the United States as spectacular or as well-loved as this one, the view of Yosemite Valley from Tunnel View. Yosemite Valley is a truly awe-inspiring sight and Tunnel View offers one of the best views of the valley in the park. In the far distance, Half Dome is just visible in the center of the image. The massive face of El Capitan stands on the left of the valley and, opposite, you can see Bridalveil Falls which was running full force when I shot this picture in April.
This panoramic image offers a slightly different version of the scene from the well-known images published by Ansel Adams and many others. It was taken using an infra-red camera which changes the overall look of the image, making blue skies turn a dramatic black and rendering foliage almost white.
Prints of this image are available in sizes between 38″ and 72″ wide.
