Yosemite Valley from Tunnel View

There can’t be too many views in the United States as spectacular or as well-loved as this one, the view of Yosemite Valley from Tunnel View. Yosemite Valley is a truly awe-inspiring sight and Tunnel View offers one of the best views of the valley in the park. In the far distance, Half Dome is just visible in the center of the image. The massive face of El Capitan stands on the left of the valley and, opposite, you can see Bridalveil Falls which was running full force when I shot this picture in April. This panoramic image offers a slightly different version of the scene from the...

Fort Davis National Historic Site

West Texas is a magical area, especially around Fort Davis which is blissfully several degrees cooler than most of the state in the summer thanks to its elevation. Hamilton Pool

Yes – it really is that idyllic and beautiful. Hamilton Pool lies about 20 miles west of Austin and is an enormously popular swimming hole on summer weekends. It was formed when part of the roof of a cave holding an underground rover caved in leaving a round lake half covered by an enormous rock overhang. If you find yourself in central Texas with nothing to do for a day, you could do a lot worse than take a visit to one of the area’s most spectacular natural sites. Prints of this image are available with widths between 36″ and 60″. Available Sizes 60" x 40"...

Chevron Building, Houston

The collection of buildings at the corner of Smith & Bell in downtown Houston, Texas has been a favourite of mine for several years. This place epitomises the large American city skyline as far as I am concerned – tall skyscrapers covered in reflective glass panels. This junction also hosts a large, circular skywalk joining all four corners and offering a great frame when shooting upwards with a very wide-angle lens. For those interested in history, although this building is currently occupied by the Chevron oil company, it was originally built as the headquarters for Enron....
